Notes
Microsoft Clipchamp
Microsoft Clipchamp is the video editor included with Windows 11 and is also available for Windows 10. It combines and trims video, image, and audio assets and can add text, transitions, filters, effects, and stock content. The editor also provides screen, camera, and microphone recording and can export completed videos.
Effects of the change: Clipchamp is no longer available as an installed Windows app. Its Start menu entry and package-registered shortcuts or file associations are removed. Features in other Windows apps that attempt to open the installed Clipchamp application can no longer launch the desktop editor.

Power Automate
This package provides the Microsoft Store version of Power Automate for desktop. The app is used to build, edit, and run desktop flows that automate repetitive operations in Windows applications and on websites.
Effects of the change: Power Automate is no longer available as a local app to the affected user accounts. Its app entry and launch target are removed, so shortcuts that point to the package can no longer open it. Microsoft does not document this Store package as a general handler for common Windows file types.

Its customizable dashboard could display system information such as CPU, GPU, memory, and network activity, together with project information obtained from GitHub and Azure DevOps.
Effects of the change: Its dashboard, machine-configuration interface, extension and environment management, and the system and project widgets supplied by the package are no longer available.

Phone Link
Phone Link is the Windows app that connects a PC to a supported Android device or iPhone. Its current Store name is Phone Link, while the underlying package retains the technical name Microsoft.YourPhone.
Effects of the change: Phone Link is no longer installed and cannot be launched from Start or from Windows surfaces that refer specifically to the app. Users consequently lose its PC interface for calls, text messages, notifications, mobile apps, and the other Phone Link capabilities supported by their device. Sharing or handoff actions that specifically require Phone Link are unavailable as well.

Microsoft Teams
MSTeams is the MSIX package for the current Microsoft Teams desktop client on Windows. It is distinct from the former classic Teams client and from the separately registered Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Outlook.
Effects of the change: Microsoft Teams is no longer available as an installed Windows app. Its Start menu entry is removed, and any remaining pinned icon or shortcut cannot launch the app. Automatic startup, the taskbar presence, desktop notifications, and the ability to receive Teams calls through this client are also lost.

Outlook for Windows
This package contains the new Outlook for Windows. The app brings email, calendars, and contacts together for supported Microsoft accounts, work or school accounts, and accounts from other providers. It synchronizes messages, events, and contact information with the applicable email service and provides features such as search, notifications, meeting scheduling, and online-meeting integration.
Effects of the change: Outlook for Windows can no longer be launched after the package is removed. Email, calendar, contacts, reminders, and desktop notifications are no longer available through this app. The accounts and their server-side contents remain accessible through a web browser, another mail client, or classic Outlook when that separate application is installed and supports the account.

Windows Web Experience Pack
The Windows Web Experience Pack delivers widget-based and other web-powered Windows features in Windows 11. Most notably, it provides the Widgets dashboard, which displays dynamically updated information such as weather, news, stock prices, photos, and content supplied by supported apps and services.
Effects of the change: The Widgets dashboard and the content delivered through it will no longer be properly available. In particular, the change affects:

Widgets Platform Runtime
Widgets Platform Runtime is a runtime component of the Windows 11 Widgets platform. It provides the connection between a widgets host—most notably the Widgets Board—and widget providers registered by installed apps.
Effects of the change: On Windows 11 versions that use this package as the Widgets runtime, installed widgets can no longer be initialized, enumerated, refreshed, or operated correctly. The Widgets Board might remain empty, fail to finish loading, or display an error. Weather, news, and other widget content on the taskbar or in the board might consequently stop updating.

Microsoft Copilot
Microsoft Copilot is the packaged Windows client for Microsoft’s cloud-based AI assistant. It provides a standalone interface for conversations and can answer questions, use information from the web, and generate text or images. Available capabilities vary with the app version, account, subscription, and Microsoft’s staged feature rollouts.
Effects of the change: The Copilot app is no longer available to existing users and is not automatically registered from device provisioning for newly created accounts. Its standalone interface and Windows-specific capabilities—including Copilot Vision, file search, screenshot sharing, the in-app web view, and voice activation—are therefore unavailable on this PC.

Quick Assist
Quick Assist provides attended remote support between two people. The helper signs in with a Microsoft account or Microsoft Entra ID and generates a time-limited security code. The person receiving help enters that code and must explicitly allow screen sharing. The helper can then view the screen, add annotations, and request control, which requires further consent from the sharer.
Effects of the change: Quick Assist is no longer available as an installed app in the affected user accounts. Those users cannot use it to receive help or assist someone else. The app entry and launch surfaces supplied by the package therefore no longer open an installed copy of Quick Assist. Because the package is also removed from provisioning, newly created user accounts do not receive it automatically.

Microsoft 365 Copilot
This package provides the Windows app that Microsoft formerly offered as “Office” and “Microsoft 365 (Office),” and later as “Microsoft 365 Copilot.” Microsoft calls its current version the Microsoft Copilot app. Microsoft explicitly associates the application ID Microsoft.MicrosoftOfficeHub_8wekyb3d8bbwe!Microsoft.MicrosoftOfficeHub with this app.
Effects of the change: The app disappears from the affected user accounts and is no longer automatically installed from Windows provisioning for newly created accounts. Its central entry point for Copilot Chat, Search, Library, agents, file creation, and launching other Microsoft 365 apps is no longer available.

Microsoft To Do: Lists, Tasks & Reminders
Microsoft To Do is a personal task-management app. It manages tasks and lists, including My Day, due dates, reminders, recurrence, importance flags, individual steps, notes, and file attachments.
Effects of the change: The standalone Microsoft To Do app is no longer available in the affected Windows user accounts. Users cannot launch it from Start, and its interface, smart lists, local reminder notifications, and synchronization on that PC are no longer available.

Microsoft News
Microsoft News is the Windows app for the MSN news service. It retrieves news stories, images, and videos from Microsoft and publishers represented on MSN, then presents them in a feed organized by topic, region, and selected sources.
Effects of the change: The Microsoft News app and its Start menu entry are no longer available to existing user accounts. Its news feed, locally held app settings, and any notifications enabled for the app can no longer be used on the device. New user accounts do not receive the provisioned package automatically.

Microsoft Bing
This app integrates Microsoft Bing as a web results provider for Windows Search. As you type in the Windows search box, the provider can retrieve relevant web suggestions, results, and HTML previews from Bing and display them within the search experience.
Effects of the change: Bing web suggestions, web results, and their associated previews are no longer available through this package in Windows Search. Parts of the search interface that obtain online content from the Bing provider may disappear or appear without Bing results. Because the provider supplies no results, those results can no longer be opened in Microsoft Edge from Windows Search.

MSN Weather
MSN Weather displays current conditions and hourly, daily, and extended forecasts for selected locations. It also provides weather maps and information such as precipitation, wind, humidity, and air quality.
Effects of the change: MSN Weather is no longer available as an installed app in existing user accounts. Its Start menu entry is removed, and users can no longer access its forecasts, weather maps, saved locations, or other personalized views through the app. Shortcuts that point directly to the removed app can no longer open it.

XBOX
This package provides the XBOX app for Windows PCs. The app combines the signed-in account’s game library, the XBOX and Game Pass catalogs, and facilities for purchasing, installing, updating, and launching supported PC games. It also provides cloud gaming, XBOX Remote Play, achievements, profiles, friends lists, and voice and text chat when supported by the account, subscription, and device.
Effects of the change: The XBOX app and its Start menu entry are no longer available to existing user accounts. The app is also removed from provisioning, so new accounts do not receive it automatically. This removes access through the app to:

Gaming Services
Gaming Services supplies background services and a user-interface component for the Microsoft Gaming Runtime. Games distributed through Microsoft Store or the Xbox app can use this runtime for functions such as installation management, Xbox services, cloud game saves, store operations, game invitations, and standardized gaming dialogs.
Effects of the change: Removing the package makes the Gaming Runtime Services and their user-interface component unavailable. Games with no dependency on Gaming Services continue to work. Titles that require the package may instead show effects such as:

Get Help
The Windows Get Help app brings together Microsoft support resources. It uses a description of the problem to present relevant support articles, frequently asked questions, and other assistance. Depending on the issue and the account being used, it can also run diagnostic tests or provide access to Microsoft support.
Effects of the change: If removal is selected, Setup Foundry removes Get Help from existing user accounts and from provisioning for new accounts. Get Help no longer appears in the app list or Windows search.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection
Microsoft Solitaire Collection is a preinstalled Microsoft Store app containing the Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, TriPeaks, and Pyramid card games. It also provides daily challenges, collections, and time-limited events.
Effects of the change: When the optional cleanup is selected, Setup Foundry removes Microsoft Solitaire Collection from existing user accounts and from provisioning for new accounts. Its games, daily challenges, events, achievements, and other features are then unavailable. The app’s normal Start menu entry is removed as well.

Feedback Hub
Feedback Hub is the Windows app for reporting problems, submitting suggestions, and upvoting similar feedback. Signed-in users can also review their previous submissions and track their status. Windows Insider Program participants receive additional features such as quests, announcements, and achievements.
Effects of the change: Feedback Hub is no longer available from Start or Windows Search for the affected accounts. Existing shortcuts or pinned entries cannot launch the app and may be removed by Windows.

Xbox TCUI
Xbox TCUI provides Xbox system interfaces that games and apps can invoke. “TCUI” means “Title-Callable User Interface.” A compatible game can use these standard interfaces to let players select friends or recent players, send game invitations, view Xbox profiles, or see the synchronization status of connected storage.
Effects of the change: Games that rely on microsoft.xbox.tcui can no longer open the affected Xbox system dialogs. Depending on the game, users may encounter effects such as:

Xbox Game Callable UI
Xbox Game Callable UI is an inbox Windows system app that supplies Xbox user-interface surfaces callable by games. It is not a standalone Xbox application and is distinct from Xbox Game Bar, Xbox Identity Provider, and Gaming Services.
Effects of the change: Because Xbox Game Callable UI is not an app that users normally launch directly, removing it usually does not eliminate a visible app shortcut. The change becomes apparent when a game requests an interface supplied by the package.

Xbox Game Bar
Xbox Game Bar provides the gaming overlay opened with Windows key+G. Its controls and widgets cover features such as screen recording, screenshots, audio, performance information, and Xbox services including friends, chat, and game invitations.
Effects of the change: After removal, Windows key+G no longer opens Xbox Game Bar. A controller's configured Xbox button can no longer display the overlay either. Game Bar's recording and screenshot shortcuts no longer have an installed Game Bar package to handle them, so game clips, retrospective captures, and screenshots cannot be created with this feature.

Microsoft.XboxGameOverlay is the supplementary package named “Xbox Game Bar Plugin.” It belongs to the Windows Game Bar and Xbox environment, but it is not the main Game Bar app. The latter is distributed separately as Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay.
Effects of the change: When removal is selected, the component supplied by this package is no longer available to existing user accounts and is not provisioned for newly created accounts.

Xbox Identity Provider
Xbox Identity Provider is a system app that enables compatible PC games and apps to sign users in to Xbox services. It associates a Microsoft account sign-in with an Xbox identity and supports the acquisition of security tokens required for authenticated Xbox service requests.
Effects of the change: Because the package is retained by default, nothing changes unless this cleanup option is selected.

Xbox Game Speech Window
Xbox Game Speech Window provides the system text window used by supported Xbox and Windows games. Games can use it to display transcribed voice chat, captions, or text chat over the game. The window can show a speaker name and a microphone or keyboard icon alongside the supplied text.
Effects of the change: After removal, the system speech-to-text overlay may no longer appear in games that use it, or the calling feature may be unable to open the window. Affected players may consequently lose real-time voice-chat transcriptions and any captions or chat text presented through this interface. This particularly affects accessibility for players who are deaf or hard of hearing.

On current versions of Windows 11, this package provides the Windows Media Player app. It plays local music and video files, catalogs content from the Music and Videos folders and any additional folders selected by the user, and manages a media library, play queue, and playlists. Depending on the app version, it also supports audio CD playback and ripping CD tracks to audio files.
Effects of the change: Windows Media Player—or Groove Music on older systems—is no longer available. Its Start menu entry and any pinned shortcuts disappear or cease to work. The app’s library, playlists, and settings can no longer be used.

Start Experiences App
On Windows 11, Start Experiences App supplies Microsoft Start content to the Widgets board and the lock screen. Its role includes Microsoft-provided widgets and the personalized news stream shown on the Discover dashboard. This dynamic content can include news, weather, sports, and financial information that is refreshed during the day.
Effects of the change: Microsoft Start widgets and the related feed experiences supplied by this package on the Widgets board and lock screen are no longer available or may fail to load and refresh correctly. In particular, the Discover dashboard might be absent, remain empty, or stop showing current personalized news. Weather, news, and other dynamic content provided through this package can also disappear.

Microsoft Family Safety
Microsoft Family Safety is the Windows app for viewing and managing a Microsoft family group. Family organizers can use it to set screen-time limits, restrict apps and games, manage web and search filters for Microsoft Edge, control purchase permissions, and review activity reports. Family members can see their restrictions and usage time and request additional screen time or approval.
Effects of the change: The Microsoft Family Safety app is removed from existing user accounts and is no longer provisioned automatically for newly created accounts. It therefore cannot be launched from its shortcut or through an app link that specifically targets the installed application. Microsoft does not document an ordinary file-type association for this package, so opening normal user files is unaffected.
