Setup Foundry can remove this package; the option is not selected by default.
Xbox Game Callable UI is an inbox Windows system app that supplies Xbox user-interface surfaces callable by games. It is not a standalone Xbox application and is distinct from Xbox Game Bar, Xbox Identity Provider, and Gaming Services.
Games can invoke the component to display standardized Xbox dialogs. Depending on the API used, these can include player pickers, profile cards, friend-relationship controls, game invitations, achievement views, and gaming-privilege checks. The package is activated when a game or another Xbox component requests one of these interfaces.
Notes
Additional effects
The package can be a dependency of older games and apps built around the Xbox Title Callable UI APIs. Newer titles may use different Gaming Runtime interfaces or their own user interfaces and therefore are not necessarily affected.
This package provides the user-interface layer rather than all underlying Xbox services. Removing it does not itself uninstall games, Xbox Game Bar, Gaming Services, or other Xbox packages.
Privacy and security
The information processed depends on the requested dialog. It can include the Xbox user identifier, gamertag and profile details, friend or player suggestions, achievement information, gaming privileges, and multiplayer-session identifiers or context. When the user sends an invitation, Xbox services process the selected recipients and the information required to identify and join the game session.
After removal, this package can no longer perform those UI flows. This prevents only processing that would have resulted from invoking this particular component. Other games, Xbox components, and Microsoft services can continue to connect to the network and process Xbox-related data independently.
Effects of the change
Because Xbox Game Callable UI is not an app that users normally launch directly, removing it usually does not eliminate a visible app shortcut. The change becomes apparent when a game requests an interface supplied by the package.
In a dependent game, a player or profile picker, achievement view, privilege prompt, or game-invitation dialog may no longer appear. The request can fail with an error; a title that does not handle the failure correctly might be unable to continue past that point or might remain on a loading screen. Whether an alternative interface is available depends on the individual game.
Local single-player features and Xbox functionality that does not use this package generally remain available. Removal does not universally disable Xbox sign-in, cloud saves, achievements, or multiplayer. A particular title can nevertheless lose access to one of those experiences when its required workflow depends on Xbox Game Callable UI.
Notes
Microsoft classifies packages of this kind as parts of Windows. Xbox Game Callable UI does not have a normal, separately discoverable Microsoft Store product page, so later installation from the Store cannot be guaranteed, even though removed app packages can generally be obtained again when Microsoft offers them there. The package's presence and integration can also vary by Windows version and build.
