Setup Foundry
Set up Windows the way you need it. Decide once, roll it out as often as you like.
since 0.9.7.6
Purpose
Setup Foundry creates installation media for Windows computers. The Windows source is either Windows that Setup Foundry downloads directly from Microsoft or an ISO file that you supply. Beforehand, you decide on accounts, applications, security settings, and the appearance of the installation. The result is a USB drive or an ISO file. Every computer installed from that medium receives the same configuration.
Steps
- Read Setup Foundry and System requirements to get started with Setup Foundry.
- Create your first installation medium with Quick start. It guides you from the first entries to the finished medium.
- Look up individual steps in The setup wizard. It explains each step and links to further information.
- To investigate a problem, start with Known issues, then read Diagnostics and logs.
Notes
Setup Foundry comes in three editions: Free, Home, and Pro.
Free creates complete installation media and removes a fixed list of preinstalled Windows packages.
Home also lets you deselect policy packages for the medium and choose which preinstalled Windows packages to remove. You can also customize the appearance of Install Assist and keep installed applications up to date.
Pro adds multiple image variants from one source, computer names based on a naming rule, Office deployment, and your own profile details, such as company name and logo.
The security settings are the same in all three editions. Comparing the editions lists all the differences.
