Feedback Hub
Feedback Hub is the Windows app for reporting problems, submitting suggestions, and upvoting similar feedback.
since 0.9.8.11
Purpose
Identifier: microsoft.windowsfeedbackhub
Setup Foundry removes this app package by default from existing user accounts and from provisioning for new accounts.
Feedback Hub is the Windows app for reporting problems, submitting suggestions, and upvoting similar feedback. Signed-in users can also review their previous submissions and track their status. Windows Insider Program participants receive additional features such as quests, announcements, and achievements.
The app can be launched from Start, Windows Search, the Windows key+F shortcut, or feedback controls provided by Windows and other apps.
Notes
Additional effects
Windows and individual apps can use Feedback Hub as their interface for product feedback. When another app launches it, the resulting report can be associated with that product.
Feedback Hub is separate from the Get Help app and Microsoft Support. It is not required for the core operation of Windows.
Privacy and security
A submitted report sends Microsoft the text entered by the user, its selected category, and automatically included information about the device, operating system, and relevant applications. Depending on the report and the options selected, it may also include diagnostic data, screenshots, screen recordings, or attached files. When the user is signed in, Microsoft can associate the feedback with that account.
Removing the package prevents new feedback and related diagnostic attachments from being sent through this app. It does not change the Windows settings for required or optional diagnostic data, and Windows may continue to transmit that data independently of Feedback Hub. Removing the app also does not delete feedback or data that was previously submitted to Microsoft.
Effects of the change
Feedback Hub is no longer available from Start or Windows Search for the affected accounts. Existing shortcuts or pinned entries cannot launch the app and may be removed by Windows.
The Windows key+F shortcut can no longer complete its intended workflow of capturing the screen and opening Feedback Hub. Feedback buttons in Windows or other applications that specifically invoke Feedback Hub can no longer reach its interface. The exact response varies by Windows and app version; Windows may indicate that the app is unavailable or offer its Microsoft Store listing.
Users can no longer search, upvote, submit, or track feedback in the app. Its Windows Insider features are unavailable as well. Removing Feedback Hub does not normally disable the Windows feature or application about which feedback would have been submitted.
Because the package is also removed from provisioning, newly created user accounts do not receive the app automatically. Feedback Hub can be installed again from Microsoft Store if Microsoft continues to offer it for the Windows version in use.
