Purpose
Identifier: microsoft.microsoftsolitairecollection
Setup Foundry removes this package only when the optional cleanup is selected; it remains installed by default.
Microsoft Solitaire Collection is a preinstalled Microsoft Store app containing the Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, TriPeaks, and Pyramid card games. It also provides daily challenges, collections, and time-limited events.
The classic game modes can be played locally. Signing in with an Xbox account adds achievement tracking, cloud synchronization of statistics and saved games, leaderboard submissions, and comparisons with friends. The app offers in-app purchases.
Notes
Privacy and security
The app stores settings, statistics, and game progress locally. When its online features are used, Microsoft also processes account-related gameplay data such as achievements, scores, and cloud saves. Leaderboards and friend comparisons send the required player and result data to Xbox services.
After removal, the app can no longer retrieve online content or transmit new gameplay or usage data. Removing the package also removes its associated on-disk app data. Data that was previously synchronized with the Xbox account is not automatically deleted from Microsoft’s services when the local package is removed.
Effects of the change
When the optional cleanup is selected, Setup Foundry removes Microsoft Solitaire Collection from existing user accounts and from provisioning for new accounts. Its games, daily challenges, events, achievements, and other features are then unavailable. The app’s normal Start menu entry is removed as well.
Unsynchronized local saves, statistics, and preferences may be lost during removal. Progress stored in the Xbox cloud may become available again after the app is reinstalled and the user signs in, depending on which data the app successfully synchronized beforehand.
Other Windows games and the general Xbox components are not removed with this package. Microsoft Solitaire Collection is currently available from Microsoft Store and can be installed again. A Store installation applies to the relevant user account and does not automatically restore the removed device-wide provisioning for future accounts.
