Known issues
Known limitations in this version and the available options.
since 0.9.7.6
Purpose
This page names the known deviations and limitations of this version of Setup Foundry.
Notes
During the beta phase, each new version is installed as a new installation. An existing beta installation is not updated.
Downloading a Windows source from Microsoft is an additional feature without guarantees. Microsoft can change or block the underlying interface at any time. The download is then unavailable until Setup Foundry has been adjusted. You can still import ISO files you already have.
When Hyper-V is active on your PC, VirtualBox runs on the Windows Hypervisor Platform and is noticeably slower.
Hyper-V is not available in Windows Home. Use VirtualBox there. Both can run the test machine.
A virtual disk can be enlarged but not shrunk. After it has been enlarged, Setup Foundry no longer accepts a smaller value.
You can change a machine's memory and disk size only while the machine is stopped. Stop the machine, then open the settings again.
The images in this documentation can differ from the current interface. Where they differ, what the program shows is what counts.
If it does not work
- Your problem is not listed here. Search the error pages for the wording of the message. It is the heading there. After that, the page Diagnostics and logs is the next step.
- It worked yesterday and does not today. With a download, an outside source may have changed. In other cases, the log records what happened.
