This value controls whether Windows presents the privacy settings experience when a newly created user account signs in for the first time. The experience can also appear when an existing user signs in for the first time after a Windows upgrade.
A value of 1 suppresses the experience. When the value is 0 or is not configured, Windows may display it in the applicable sign-in scenarios.
The setting supports both device and user scope. The value under HKLM applies in the computer context, while the value under HKCU applies in the context of the individual user.
Notes
Security
Suppressing the experience prevents users from reviewing or selecting the privacy options offered on those screens during the affected sign-in. This is particularly relevant on managed systems where separate policies already define the applicable privacy settings.
DisablePrivacyExperience does not configure the individual privacy settings itself. For example, it does not directly enable or disable location services, diagnostic features, or application access to protected resources. The effective settings depend on the applicable Windows defaults and any other policies in force.
Notes
Its administrative template is OOBE.admx.
