Prevent enabling lock screen camera
This device-wide policy prevents an available camera from being invoked from the Windows lock screen.
since 0.9.8.11
Purpose
Show registry keys (1)
HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization\NoLockScreenCamera
This device-wide policy prevents an available camera from being invoked from the Windows lock screen. It also disables the corresponding control in Windows settings, so users cannot enable lock-screen camera access themselves.
The registry value uses the REG_DWORD type. A value of 1 represents the enabled policy and blocks the lock-screen camera.
Notes
Security
The policy removes access to the camera through the lock screen, before a user has signed in or unlocked the device. This prevents someone with physical access from using the camera through that entry point.
It does not disable the camera device as a whole or prevent applications from accessing the camera after sign-in. Those behaviors are governed by separate camera and privacy policies.
Possible side effects
Users cannot start taking photos or other camera recordings directly from the lock screen. They must unlock the device and use an appropriate application instead.
Notes
The setting applies to every user of the computer. When the policy is not enabled, users can normally allow an available camera to be invoked from the lock screen.
