Turn off the Windows Welcome Experience
This per-user policy setting suppresses the Windows Spotlight welcome experience.
since 0.9.8.11
Purpose
Show registry keys (1)
HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent\DisableWindowsSpotlightWindowsWelcomeExperience
This per-user policy setting suppresses the Windows Spotlight welcome experience. Windows no longer presents the affected user with a welcome experience describing what is new, changed, or suggested after updates or changes to Windows and its apps.
The welcome experience can, for example, launch Microsoft Edge with a webpage that highlights new Windows features.
Notes
Possible side effects
Users no longer receive introductions to new or changed features through the Windows welcome experience. They may therefore miss information about relevant additions, changes, or suggestions.
Notes
This setting applies to individual users. It controls only the Windows welcome experience; it does not by itself disable other Windows Spotlight features such as lock-screen content, suggestions in Settings, or Windows Spotlight notifications.
Microsoft documents the underlying policy for Windows 10, version 1703 and later.
