HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent\DisableThirdPartySuggestions
This per-user registry value controls whether Windows spotlight can suggest apps and content from third-party software publishers. It covers Windows spotlight experiences such as lock screen spotlight, suggested apps in the Start menu, and Windows tips.
The value uses the REG_DWORD data type. A value of 1 suppresses third-party suggestions. A value of 0, or the absence of the value, does not impose this restriction.
Notes
Possible side effects
Users no longer receive third-party app and content suggestions through the affected Windows spotlight experiences. Suggestions for Microsoft features, apps, and services can still appear.
Notes
The setting applies to the user whose profile contains the HKCU value. It does not disable Windows spotlight as a whole, nor does it suppress all recommendations or promotional content from Microsoft.
If Windows spotlight features have already been disabled by a broader policy, this individual setting has no additional visible effect.
