Turn off Inventory Collector
This computer policy controls the Windows application compatibility Inventory Collector.
since 0.9.8.11

HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\AppCompat\DisableInventory
This computer policy controls the Windows application compatibility Inventory Collector. The collector gathers information about applications, files, devices, and drivers on the system. Windows uses this inventory information to help diagnose compatibility problems and can send it to Microsoft.
The registry value uses the REG_DWORD type. A value of 1 represents the enabled policy state: the Inventory Collector is turned off and does not send inventory data to Microsoft. If the policy is disabled or not configured, the collector is normally turned on.
Notes
Additional effects
Enabling the policy also prevents the Program Compatibility Assistant from collecting installation data. It does not turn off the Program Compatibility Assistant itself.
Security
Turning off the collector limits the transmission of system inventory data to Microsoft. Information gathered by this mechanism about installed applications, files, devices, and drivers therefore does not leave the system through the Inventory Collector.
This policy does not disable Windows diagnostic data collection in general or prevent other Windows components from sending data to Microsoft.
Possible side effects
Because the affected inventory and installation data is no longer collected, it is unavailable for compatibility diagnostics that rely on that information. Other Program Compatibility Assistant functionality is not disabled by this setting.
Notes
If the Customer Experience Improvement Program is already turned off, this policy has no additional effect because the Inventory Collector is already disabled.
