HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager\SilentInstalledAppsEnabled
The SilentInstalledAppsEnabled DWORD value controls, for the current user profile, whether Windows Content Delivery Manager may install suggested apps without an explicit user action.
A value of 0 disables this automatic installation. It does not prevent apps from being installed manually or deployed through administration tools, device management, Windows components, or other installation mechanisms.
Notes
Security
This setting is not an application-control or security policy. It does not generally block Microsoft Store installations, prevent unwanted applications from running, or revoke permissions from apps that are already installed.
Notes
The change applies only to the user account whose HKCU hive contains the value. It does not remove apps that have already been installed. Suggested or pinned Start entries can also remain because Windows controls those experiences through separate settings.
SilentInstalledAppsEnabled is an internal per-user Windows value rather than a documented ADMX policy. Microsoft documents post-OOBE app installation as part of Windows consumer experiences but does not publish a dedicated policy reference for this individual registry value. In particular, it must not be treated as equivalent to the device-wide AllowWindowsConsumerFeatures policy or its DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures policy value.
