Show sync provider notifications
This per-user `DWORD` value controls whether File Explorer displays notifications associated with sync providers.
since 0.9.8.11
Purpose
Show registry keys (1)
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\ShowSyncProviderNotifications
This per-user DWORD value controls whether File Explorer displays notifications associated with sync providers. These can include information about OneDrive and messages introducing features or actions related to cloud storage and file management.
A value of 0 suppresses these messages in File Explorer for the current user. It does not stop file synchronization or disable OneDrive or another sync provider.
Notes
Possible side effects
In addition to promotional or unwanted messages, File Explorer no longer displays product-education notices that introduce new features or suggest actions the user can take. This value does not control file synchronization itself or the availability-status indicators shown for synchronized files.
Notes
The registry value corresponds to the “Show sync provider notifications” option in File Explorer. It is a user preference stored under HKCU, not a standalone Group Policy setting.
