HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\PrivateProfile\Logging\LogFileSize
The LogFileSize value specifies the maximum size, in kilobytes, of the Windows Firewall log file for the private network profile. Its data type is REG_DWORD.
A value of 16384 limits the file to 16,384 KB, equivalent to 16 MB at 1,024 KB per MB. When the size limit is reached, Windows removes the oldest log entries to make room for new entries.
Notes
Security
A larger log file can retain more firewall events before older entries are removed. This can provide a longer record of allowed or dropped network traffic for security analysis.
This value does not change firewall rules or affect how network traffic is handled. It also does not enable logging. Entries are written only when logging of dropped packets or successful connections is enabled by separate settings.
Possible side effects
The log file can consume more storage than it would with a lower size limit. This value caps its size at 16,384 KB.
Notes
The value applies only to the private firewall profile. The separate log-file path setting determines which file is used.
