Disable suggested apps and content

Purpose

Show registry keys (1)

• HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager\SubscribedContent-353693Enabled

Setup Foundry writes 0 to this per-user DWORD value. The value belongs to Windows Content Delivery Manager, which manages several categories of subscribed recommendations and other content delivered by Microsoft.

Microsoft does not publicly document SubscribedContent-353693Enabled or associate the internal content ID 353693 with a specific Windows feature. Official sources therefore do not establish which suggested apps or content this individual value suppresses. In particular, there is no verified basis for claiming that it disables all recommendations, automatic app provisioning, or every Windows spotlight feature.

Notes

Notes

Because the value is stored under HKCU, it applies only to the corresponding user profile. It is not a documented Group Policy value and should not be treated as equivalent to the supported policies under Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent.

Microsoft documents separate controls for recommendations in the Settings app, Windows spotlight, and Windows consumer features. Those documents do not identify SubscribedContent-353693Enabled as the registry implementation of any of these controls. Its precise effect is therefore version-dependent or otherwise not publicly specified.
