HKU\.DEFAULT\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager\SubscribedContent-310093Enabled
The DWORD value SubscribedContent-310093Enabled is a profile-specific Windows Content Delivery Manager setting. A value of 0 suppresses the Windows welcome experience for the affected profile. This experience can appear after updates or at sign-in to highlight new or changed Windows features and suggestions.
The value controls only this welcome experience. It does not turn off all consumer content, Windows spotlight features, tips, suggestions, or spotlight images.
Notes
Possible side effects
When the setting takes effect for an interactive user profile, that user no longer receives feature announcements and suggestions through the Windows welcome experience. Other notifications and suggestion features are unaffected.
Notes
SubscribedContent-310093Enabled is not a documented policy value under Software\Policies. Microsoft documents the Windows welcome experience and a corresponding Windows spotlight policy, but does not publish a supported technical contract for this internal Content Delivery Manager value. Its behavior can therefore depend on the Windows version.
The specified path also has an important scope limitation: on a running Windows system, HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT is not the default profile used to create new user accounts. It represents the LocalSystem profile. A value stored there is not automatically copied to ordinary or newly created user profiles.
The actual default user profile is stored in C:\Users\Default\NTUSER.DAT and is not loaded as HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT by default. The value can seed subsequently created profiles only if a deployment environment explicitly mounts that file under this name. Such a mapping cannot be inferred from the registry path alone.
