Get tips and suggestions when using Windows
The `SubscribedContent-338389Enabled` DWORD value controls the per-user Windows feature that presents tips and suggestions while the operating system is being used.
since 0.9.8.11
Purpose
Show registry keys (1)
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager\SubscribedContent-338389Enabled
The SubscribedContent-338389Enabled DWORD value controls the per-user Windows feature that presents tips and suggestions while the operating system is being used. A value of 0 disables the associated subscribed-content category, so Windows no longer presents those tips and suggestions to the affected user.
This value does not disable every Windows spotlight feature or all cloud-delivered content. In particular, it does not by itself turn off the spotlight background, Start suggestions, the Windows welcome experience, or suggested content in the Settings app. Windows uses separate settings and registry values for those experiences.
Notes
Possible side effects
The user no longer receives tips in this category that introduce Windows features or ways to use them. Notifications from applications and other Windows system notifications are not disabled.
Notes
Because the value is stored under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, it applies only to the corresponding user profile. It is an internal Windows Content Delivery Manager preference rather than an ADMX-backed Group Policy value under a Policies key.
Microsoft documents the related Windows feature but does not publish a contractual reference that maps this particular registry value unambiguously across all Windows versions. The mapping may therefore change between Windows releases. In particular, this value is not equivalent to the Do not show Windows tips Group Policy setting or the AllowWindowsTips CSP setting; those use different policy paths and have a different scope.
